dont the speakers suck still?

Dealer adviced me not to get it, I'm going to replace everything but the head unit, because that looks like it's not coming out easy

 

They don't "suck", but they aren't what they should be for an upgrade. The problem is they just can't handle enough power. The head unit has decent power. Soon as some places learn how to upgrade the MINI HIFI, I''m replacing the speakers. Whether the HIFI is worth $550 is subject to opinion. I'd still get it. But, I'd rather have paid $1000 - 2000 and got a better upgrade.

 

For those of us who couldn't wait indefinitely, the dealer will propably charge $1500 to put it in.

 

I'd agree with Lynn, the speakers are ok, they are not high end, but they don't "suck". At some voumes, they actually sound pretty darn good.

The hifi system is actually pretty good. You have to be carefull who you listen to when your talking sound systems. Audiophiles that as Lyn mentioned will spend $2000 on a system, will say it sucks. But the people that normally have stock radio's, will say it's the best radio they have ever had!! I'm in the middle, I always suplement my stereos with a powered subwoofer (makes a HUGE difference), and sometimes change the head unit and speakers if easy to do.

I will say this, of all the cars/trucks I bought in the last 10 or 20 years, this is by far the best factory stereo I have received. They ussually all "suck".
