Did any of you seriously consider laser blue? If so, why did you end up with MW? I'm really torn between laser blue and mellow yello.

Lightning blue was my second choice. I went with Mellow Yellow because I liked the contrast between the body color and the black roof on that car than the blue and black.

Well lightning blue is a bit dark so i could see how the black roof and stripes wouldn't contrast well, but i think white contrasts well on it.

I did consider LB and went to look at it in person, right then and then I saw my MY/BK on the lot.... the rest is history...

I have not regret it, it is easy to maintain...

I didn't have that luxury. My order went in before they had the new model in this country. I had to go on faith and the photos from Britain. I'm very pleased.

I still haven't seen another Mellow Yellow on the road yet. Which may be a good thing. Keeps mine unique.

Great news, I'm about a week away from receiving my new MINI!

Horrible news! After waiting all this time, I just realized that I have to decide between BLACK or CHROME colored driving lights. And worse, I can't tell from the photos in this thread which I prefer!!

Mine is an 07 MCS MY/B with standard black bonnet stripes. Does anyone with the same set-up have a photo of their car with either the BLACK or CHROME colored OEM driving lights installed? Time is of the essense for me, as I am expecting a call back from my MA at any moment.

Appreciate it!! If someone knows of a link to a photo with what I'm after, I'd certainly appreciate that as well! Thanks!!

No pics, but do you plan to black out any of the chrome bits? If not, I would get the chrome driving lights to match the other chrome trim. The black would look strange IMO. Good luck, and congratulations on the new addition soon to be.

That's 100% my guess as well. And while I love the look of a blacked out MY/B, I doubt I'd put forth the effort to make it happen (especially once I put a clear bra over the scoop, which I intend to do that first week).

I scoured NAM threads and galleries, but couldn't turn up any good photos of what I'm after. I don't have an account on MINI2, but I wouldn't mind if someone else happened to turn up a photo or two from that site, either.

Currently my MY/B is going through its black out mode...

I did have the clear bra over the hood scoop, but removed the original one and replaced it with the one I painted black. I don't mind too much not having the clear bra over this piece, but I do plan on working w/ my installer to get it done. I have the hood scoop, front lights, and tail lights blacked out; with the beltline being done in the next week or so.

The previous thread concerning chrome/black driving lights; i do agree with what you plan on doing to the car. I knew my chrome was going away so the black lights is my choice. Anyway, hope to get some pictures loaded in the next couple of weeks.

cheers
Andy

Does this mean you have a currently unused MY scoop? Because I would like to replace my carbon fiber scoop with a yellow scoop.

So guys, thought I'd share that I ordered my 2008 MY/B on 11/27. It was completed on 12/4 and is currently on the FREEDOM headed for NYC. The FREEDOM will be in NYC on 12/18. Not sure whether I'll get this in time for Christmas or not.

Here's what I ordered:
MY/B black stripes
Premium package
Cold weather package
Rear fogs
Leather MFSW
Auto headlights and rain sensing wipers
Standard Leatherette
LSD
DSC
16" Bridge Spoke with All Seasons

Wanted black leather with white piping as well as Nav & bluetooth but couldn't afford all that.

Opted not to go for the AH as I felt that the standard grey headliner might actually look better with the MY.

Opted not to go for the Xenons as I am often irritated by how bright they are when I see them in other people's cars.

Great line up, the standard grey headliner may look better with your standard leatherette seats. Be sure to post pictures...

Looks great. Welcome to the Mellow Yellow group and to NAM. Are you also a member of Mini2 in the U.K.?

I drive a PW / cream color line / black Piano / LL Seats... Have a good friend that loves my interior but also likes Yellow - So, I told them that I would post to see if any Mellow Yellow owners out there have a MY/Cream Color line/ Black Piano and LL seats.... Also a white top.....

PW interior with MY exterior seems a bit weird to me.

Its not PW interior - just the White color line and the LL seats have the white piping on the edge - that is the only two items inside that have the white and the Mellow Yellow would have the white top.... So, unless we are missing something here NOT mixing PW and MY

Sorry, I meant cream line interior. Some of these combinations don't look good in my head, but it's another thing to see them in real life.

I love my combo of MY/B, anthracite HL, Piano Black surfaces and MY color line. The contrast of black and yellow with a dash of chrome makes for a fun feeling. I added some nice tint to the outside. Limo on the sunroof, 18% on the back and 28% on the fronts. Cuts down on the glare and it looks great. Just passed 4500 miles (6 weeks old) and rotated the runflats myself. Say hello to mr. torque wrench

I just wish my rims had some yellow in them. That would look fantastic.
