Of course I do! There is always something to whine about. Allow me to demonstrate.

I got my welcome kit and as I analyzed the box, I noticed a dent in the upper corner of it. Ok, it's just a dent in a cardboard box. But I thought I might be able to pop it out. So I tried and it kept wanting to return back the same dented position. I noticed the box was creased where it was pivoting and the artwork was a bit mauled.

It did not look right! I kept trying to pop it out, but it would not stay! I thought maybe a popsicle stick glued in the right position would hold it, but where it was bent is where the top slides off, which would revela the STICK!

I CANNOT BELEIVE THEY SENT ME A BENT BOX!!! AND NO WAY TO REPAIR IT! THERE SHOULD BE A LAW AGAINST THINGS LIKE THIS!!!! ARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!

I got Eliza the first week in July... got my black box package on 8/24.

Any word yet on whether there are ads to scour, or are the decoder thingies no longer useful?

I picked up my MCS on May 10. The only thing I've received was a stencil for painting "MINI PARKING ONLY" and a note saying they heard I was about to get a MINI. This came months after I picked up the car.

The only thing "important" in the kit is your permanant Roadside assistance card with your vin# on it.

I got a box of cookies from the dealership as well as the welcome package. Guess it must be a dealership by dealership thing.

The welcome package doesn't come from the dealership. It's sent out by Mini USA.

I've bought 2 R56's, one on 6/16 and one on 7/31 --- no kit for me yet...
I got one after my R53 purchase last year though. I still have the nifty pad and broken pen.

Did it come with a broken pen, or did that happen after-market? A harbinger of things to come?

Welcome package and cookies

I received my Mini at the end of June and got a round white tin that has Mini and BMW logo on it from the dealership a few weeks later. The tin was full of yummy chocolate chip cookies , they must have known that I was trying to lose weight .
The day I picked up the Mini they handed me two key fobs, one has the dealers name engraved on the backside and a box of Mini playing cards.
Then a few days ago I received a black box with a mouse pad inside and what appears to be 3-D glasses and a decoder screen .
I believe the magazine decoder ads are no longer being printed .

Today I'm having the new car smell reintroduced by having a new top put on it. The original top came with a very small tear on the side panel that I figured would become a very large tear after a while.

The dealership has been very good about fixing the few small problems it had.

I got word, that there was a period around March - April, where MINI stopped sending the kits because the package developed a squeak that they could not fix. So, they just sealed the packages until they could devise a fix. Additionally, the pens would start to write on their own and then fail when one tried to use them. It is rumored a software upgrade has been devised.

I don't know about the upgrade but mine was obviously in some sort of accident, it appears to have been hit by a Mack truck judging by the damage to the exterior quarter panel.
The dealer says it is out of warranty and that the mouse pad should still operate as designed to.

Just sent an email to MINI through the owners lounge contact me tab. They emailed me immediately saying that if it has been more than six weeks they we re-order it for you. Hope this helps

I don't think we got cookies after buying either of our MINIs, but we did get a *huge* basket each time that had a ballcap, a bar of dark chocolate, a liter bottle of Perrier, a large container of pub mix, a jar of nuts, some biscotti, and these flat wafers that seem to be halfway between cookies and crackers. They almost tasted like waffle ice-cream cones.
