R56 07 Seats
07 Seats
Sat in an 07 Saturday to test the seats. They don't seem to have as agressive side bolsters as the 06 does. They felt more comfortable with out the stronger side bolsters. Not a flame, wish I had the more comfortable seats in my 06. Any one else find them more comfortable?
I've only had a R50 loaner for like 48hrs, with the sports seats. I'd say 07s are more comfortable, longer - more thigh support. But its no racing seat. Going around a fast turn I have my knee on the door trying to stay on the seat. Its not that the fabric does not grip or the bolsters are not high enough. The seat just seems a bit too wide.
ya know ... i just got back from a 2K road trip and found the R56 sport seats (leatherette) really comfortable over long drives (5 hrs+). i had an 05 R53 (leather) and i actually like the new ones better. definitely not racing seats though.
While I loved - and then some - my test drive in an '06 S, I had trouble getting comfortable with those side bolsters squooshing in on my love handles. For me, the R56 seats have no such issue; quite comfortable and supportive.
I think the R56 sport seats are more comfortable than the R53 sport ones. They are also more comfortable than my standard R56 MC seats. Larger, definitely more thigh support and longer bottom. That said, we find the seats on our R56 MC more comfortable on trips than our X3. (Note: I am big guy (6'1"/280) and my experience may be different than you little folks.)
R56 sport seats rule!! Get the cloth/leather or just cloth. If I'm cornering really hard I can slide around a little bit but not much.

I have no previous experience with pre-'07 Mini's, but our '07 has lounge seats. Just completed an 1100+ mile trip in it, and the seats were very comfotable.
Sport seats rock!
I just completed a 1200+ mile vacation trip and these seats rule!
I usually have lower back pain (back pain in general) during my road trips and I had none! The seats only make the car even more of a pleasure to drive.

I've sat in the '07 MCS, and I think the seats are MUCH more comfortable - in fact, I wish I could put them in my car. But I thought the side bolstering felt more aggresive than the old seats.
