Head looks melted near valves on #3. cause?

09 mini r55 no turbo, stock. Ran fine during test drive, 7 days later lost power. Head removed and found this. See photo. Anyone know the cause? Is it known to happen on gen. 2 N12B16A engines?

Broken valve seat. Known for these engines to just come loose. More possible causes on the internet.
