R55 Shift knob rod diameter question

Shift **** rod diameter question
Hey guys!
I recently purchased an R55 JCW and am wanting to replace the shift **** for something a little more unique. I was wondering if anyone knew the diameter of the shift **** rod? I am planning to purchase an adapter to allow me to use a threaded shift ****, but I want to be sure I don't buy a shift rod adapter that is too large of a diameter. Any help would be appreciated!
