I have a 2008 Clubman S with 95K on it. I recently purchased a new rear sway bar from Way Motor Works, but have yet to install it. Part of the install involves the removal of both rear shocks. This got me thinking. While I've got these out, shouldn't I consider if it's replacement time? These are the factory shocks, so 95K on them. I haven't "noticed" a performance issue with them, but shocks are one of those things that degrade so slowly, you don't notice.
I know Koni FSD shocks can be had for about $150 each. And if I do the rears, I'll be mighty tempted to do the fronts as well. Just money and time, LOL
So, thoughts? At near 100K, are my shocks near end of life? Just for "evaluation" purposes, here is a photo from last weekend.
I agree with Way. I've had two Clubmans/Clubmen....and changed the shocks and struts on both and the ride and handling improved. People tell me that I'm crazy, but it seemed like the OE shocks and struts got harder with age.
