Clutch shutter

Hi, I have 105k miles on my 2009 Clubman S and lately I've noticed a shutter when taking off in reverse and sometimes in 1st gear. Is there anything I can adjust or is it time to replace it. It's not bad, but I notice it.

My suggestion would be the passenger side motor mount. They're not the most robust things out there and fail. To answer your other questions there is no adjustment for the clutch. The clutch can start to chatter if you have hot spots on the flywheel or pressure plate but if you're just street driving it normally I can't imagine that's your problem.

If it's the original clutch then my guess is it's done. There is only a couple of mm of wear surface on these clutches. 100,000 is about it for normal driving.

Thanks v10, I'll make a visual and maybe stick a jack under it just to make sure it's still tight. Thanks again

FWIW when the mount failed on our old car and caused a shudder when starting to move there wasn't anything wrong with the mount visually. However, replacing the mount fixed it. Ours was an auto-x car and talking to other autocrossers with R56s they suggested the motor mount as they failed often with hard driving/launches.
