2011 R55 Cooling Fan Test
Radiator cooling fan was not working. Finally got the power connection on the rear of the fan assembly apart and reconnected to ensure tightness. Fan now runs on low speed when engine is warm, but not fast enough to cool anything. Unfortunately I don't have a dashboard temp guage and only have "Oops" lights on the dash. Water pump and thermostat have been replaced in the last year. Is there a way to test the fan with 2 leads like testing the fans from earlier years with 3 leads? Not opposed to replacing the assembly if needed, however I replace parts to correct the problem instead of trying to locate the problem.

there are two relays next to the DME...one is for Fan stage 1 and the other is for Fan stage 2. check these relays and you might be able close the contacts for testing there rather than at the fan plug.
