Done a lot of reading! I have a little concern about the engine heat issue. One post stated that by removing the grill in the scoop that it would drop the temp by 10 degrees? Any other thought or experience in this area? Pros/cons...thanks

I'm curious on this too. I have a temp gage that, once the car is warm, shows I'm running at 110! Seems pretty high...

I took out the factory grille in the scoop and replaced it with a mesh screen for appearance only. I couldn't be able to give you any info on it reducing temps but I will tell you plenty of heat vectors out that hole after spirited driving.

These MINIs run hot so it's pretty normal. Some of the cars came with the entire scoop plugged off.
We replace the stock plastic scoop insert with the open metal grill one to help.

Then I also put in the hood heat shield, has to be notched to put on the newer hood that has the brace go through, but it works well.

Otherwise I wouldn't put too much worry on it. But this is why open intakes don't make power on the Turbo MINIs.

Congrats on the Clubman

For the scoop , get the heat shield.

If you want the factory scoop grille , newest version its here.
has some vents for the heat.
