Hello all. I've been scouring the forum for potential issues for what I know is not a mechanically reliable brand. I just moved on from an E46 325I, so I'm well-versed with over-paying to keep the car you love in the road.
So, I'm looking for advice from you guys. Found a local Clubman I'm going to test drive later today. But first, what do you guys think of all the service listed in this Carfax report? It's it a "run away quickly" or perhaps does it look like the trouble bits have been addressed?

It has had the common failures addressed. Thermostat housing(they crack), timing chain & guide replaced(the guides break) and Water pump(the originals were plastic). I don't hear of too many head gasket problems, but valve cover gaskets can leak. The other common problem is the oil filter housing gaskets can leak oil. The housing mounts to the side of the block and has a cooler that mounts on the other side of it. I recently replaced both gaskets myself. The gaskets are about $36 and takes a good half day to replace them. The oil supply line to the turbo can leak oil. I also replaced the thermostat housing myself. We now have about 77k and I have noticed the vacuum pump has a small oil leak. Not sure yet if it's the O-ring leaking wher it mounts to the head or the pump is failing. Easy to replace, but not cheap. I do all my own maintenance and we love the car so I just deal with any issues.
