three button remote

I just purchased a used 2008 clubman with only one remote. If I purchase a used remote can I program it? I have looked at a few threads and have yet to see a clear answer.

I am in the same boat and the research I have done tells me no. Asked dealer on price for new key... ughhh $300 so maybe I just live with one. The real kick in the *** is my car is an 13' where the hell is the other key!?!?! If you find something and have success though let me know.

Several threads here about the key fobs.
You can't code them yourself.
Yes....dealer price is high.
But after reading several of these threads and hearing the answers, your stuck with ordering through dealer.
Or just have one, but losing that one or having it go bad, might put you into a situation you don't want.

I purchased a used 2009 clubman with only one remote and I called Mini USA directly and discovered a new remote can be ordered directly through them for $150. I'm in California and the MINI USA price for my area was $150.
