Good Evening everyone!

I'm a new owner of an 08 Cooper S Clubman and its a fantastic car, now that I've had it for a time though, I'm looking at changing a few things up to make it a little more distinguished and the first thing on my list is wheels, I'm currently set up with a set of the stock 16 inch wheels but I'd like to increase the wheel diameter, my question is, how wide of a wheel/tire can I use on a 17 inch rim and not have any issues rubbing. Car is currently stock height but I can forsee lowering it a little down the road when I get into the suspension a little.
