18" JCW Wheel Set Deal

I just purchased new 18" genuine JCW wheels with tires, hubcaps, and tpm's for only $1205 (for all 4) to replace my 16" wheels. I found them on www.shopminiusa.com. They must be on closeout or not very popular as all the other 18" JCW sets are $3000+. They are a 2 piece silver composite design. A great deal if you are looking for some new wheels or an upgrade. Note the website says its only good for models until 9/2009.

Were the JCWs still using the MCS brakes up until '09 maybe?

Yeah if TPMS is include than the cut off would be 2009.

I picked up a set of 18" R-105 wheels with Pirelli P-Zeros last year for the same price. The Pirellis changed my opinion of run-flats (for the better). Helluva deal.

BTW: I also take some comfort (no pun intended) in the stiff sidewalls of the runflats in conjunction with the low profile 18" tires. A bit of rim protection.

Any issues with your R105 18" wheels and your brakes? I just have the standard brakes still on mine. But may upgrade to a big brake kit at some point.

No issue with the standard S brakes. The "Big Brake" kit won't fit... unless you use spacers (IIRC).

BTW: The MINI "required" bump-stop kit is not needed. Maybe if the the car is slammed.
