Up for sale is my 2012 base rack system. I had this on my 2012 Mini Cooper Clubman S for a year, and never used it, so I'm selling since I don't need it. I bought it new from Mini Ontario for $260 and paid $40 for the install. I have everything it came with, manual, tools, racks. I think if you're handy, you could install it yourself. The part number is 82712149225 if you want to call Mini and see if these racks will fit your car. The racks are in good condition with some normal wear signs on the logo from being on my car for a year. There are two bolts you will need to pick up from home depot for the install yourself, otherwise they are ready to put on

Custom Whispbar/Thule setup installed by Rack Attack in Portland. Mounts directly to the roof - super clean and low-profile. Love it.

I had a Thule on my R53 and the noise was obnoxious. Got the factory rack on the Clubbie and I don't even notice it.

hey @ECSTuning when are you getting the RockyMount ski/snowboard racks in? And are you getting all 3 sizes from Rocky Mount (I only see 2 sizes listed on your site - the small and the big - I was hoping for the medium?)

speaking of that though- does anyone have the rocky mount ski rack? or the Mini ski rack? I was thinking the Mini one looked HUGE like it would be ridiculous on top of the car? I'm mostly looking to carry snowboards, but also need to carry at last one pair of skis.

Craig Curtis - The euro pitch fork rocky mounts we have come in one size. The LiftOp' s are in LiftOp 4 medium and LiftOp 6 large.

This is the MINI factory holder.

If you Google search the MINI part number you will find some images or if anyone on the Clubman forums has photos of it installed. It sets a little higher but not allot.

There are also images in the Clubman forums with the rocky mounts euro pitch fork installed.

Thanks

I haven't done a thorough search but I'm curious if anyone has had a yakima skybox pro 16 on a clubman? I am considering one for this winter's ski season - it seems to be the best blend of space + mid-length.

The fatcat mounts to the stock roof racks and is a ski/snowboard holder. It has a mounting system that can mount on different cross bars. I opted for this one so that we can switch it between this car and our lexus suv

Base kit installed, very pleased - no extra sounds and breeze to install, took about 20mins carefully and time taken.

Update on the yakima fat cat and mini base rack combo. It WHISTLES LIKE A SUNOFAGUN as soon as you hit 60 mph. Doesnt whistle with the bike rack or on its own. Anyone else have issues like that (or know how to fix?)

so after seeing one on the road I completely changed tack & bought a Thule Sonic Alpine 633S to go on top of my clubby. I had been concerned that they would be too long, but it fits perfectly & with the low profile I can actually get in & out of my low garage. Sunroof still is fully functional, and it's doesn't hang over the front at all (I do have to remove the antennae tho). And the silver on my silver looks pretty damn sweet. Not a cheap solution but functional, really quiet on the road, and looks great.

I tested it out this weekend & can fit 2 pairs of skiis, 2 snowboards, and 2 pairs of ski boots (the snowboarding boots will have to go inside); it's tight but they fit.

I'll post pics when I can get the winter dirt/salt off my car (probably notime soon ...).

Managed to flush-fit a Thule ski carrier onto Mini's OEM base rack, in case anyone was curious about that. I used this kit with 1" washers from the hardware store. Works great!

Hey everyone,

Instead of starting a new thread I thought I would ask here. I hope its not a threadjack since its about racks anyway.

I have the OEM crossbars and I used the have a Thule XT something Sidearm. The sidearm got stolen and I have yet to replace it. I also have a new Kayak that I am looking for a good setup for. Anyway I have 2 questions.

1. Is there a bike rack that is more secure than others? Any benefit to having the fork style over the one that grips the wheel?

2. For those with Kayaks, would you recommend a type of mount (horizontal/vertical) or brand?

Keep in mind these would both be for the OEM MINI racks.

Thanks!

I have the fork mounted bike holder

82720443635

The one in the first pic.

Lost the brackets that go inside the OEM bar channel.

Got the one for the back and not the front.

Thanks the front section mount of that Fork Mounted Bicycle Holder Part 82720443635 is not a separate piece from MINI. The mount right under the front plastic MINI logo part

You can get a new fork MINI mount linked above or go to a Rockymount version.

Rockymount that fits into OEM MINI Roof Rack Base Bars: Post #32

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...f-racks-2.html

Other then that I can check for similar hardware on other MINI racks to see if anything is close, but looking through the diagram I did not see anything really like that.

Thanks

FWIW I have the rocky mount bike rail for my mini OEM rack, and love it. Can't speak to the kayak rack though, sorry. Bought both oem and rocky mount from ECS - good service and price

Has anyone tried the Thule 1680 fit kit? Sounds like the 1507 was a nightmare.
