so i just picked up my clubman last week and i have noticed something strange and was wondering if this happens to anyone else.

if the car is cold, when i start driving i hear a squeal coming from the passenger side. it seems to only happen in first gear, and only when the car is cold. i'm hoping it's just the break-in but my gut is telling me it might be a syncro issue, or a sticking caliper. i want to give it some mileage before i bring it in to ensure that it's not just normal break in, and that the dealer can't try to claim it is (dealers always treat me like i'm an idiot, one of the perks of having ***** ).

has anyone else experienced this?

 

Turn the heat up and gag your passenger. That should take care of the squeal. BAHAHAHAHAHA

 

We had a squeal on our Clubman S that would come & go - from the right side - it never did it when I would drive - only when the wife drove it??? and the dealer could never "hear it" .... The dealer ended up changing the serpentine belt and "adjusting" the pulleys ( I think that stands for spraying wd-40 on them LOL ) but the squeal has not been back in a while.

Thanks that does help. I've given it some more mileage and it's still doing it, just not as bad. I might just take it in and ask them to look at it.
