I do 90-95% highway, 500+ miles a week. I purchased zee MINI with 32k on it.
I just bought it and im finishing off my second tank this week, at some point.
first tank (dealership said it was 93octane) I got (calculator, not OBC) 46
this tank I put in 89 and im getting 42 so far. It says I have 220 miles left and I have been 380 miles. This is much better than my SAAB 9-3 Aero that got 28mpg.

Living in VT, there are some flat sections, but many hills and the road to my house is peppered with 10% grades.

I usually put the cruise on when i hit the highway at 69mph, and time my lights so I rarely stop.

2011 Mini Clubman non S

I have been averaging 33.02 over 28,000 miles. As for tire size, the car had 15 inch for the first 20,000 miles. I changed to 17 inch and saw a 4 to 5 mile per gallon decrease in MPG and also felt a real performance drag with the bigger heavier tires. I sold them and I now have 16 inch.

With the 17inch mini lites with 205/50/17 I average about 28 mpg where as with the 16 I am averaging between 34 and 35 mpg.

2010 Clubman (non-S)
Manual Trans
Roof Rails
39K Miles
Probably 50/50 mix on hwy/city

Indicated 33.1 MPG - I'm still on the first tank of gas after a week and driving it 175 miles home from the dealership!

It doesn't have the power of the BMW it is replacing, but it is a kick, and I love the fuel economy!

Commute to work.

I didn't think it was possible. After a month of ownership I've learned how to conserve gas during my commutes to work. 60-65mph. Drafting 18wheelers and SUVs.

2009 Clubman S,
sport mode off,
windows up,
ac off,
91 octane
10/90 cty/hwy

39mpg!!!

Rolling a 2010 Clubman S with JCW tuning bike rack and fog lights and average 28. If I figure out how to drive the stick it might go up a smidge Generally don't drive in "Sport" mode....maybe I should?!

For those in the US using OBC.... Be sure the Lang=US is set in the computer (speedo setting).

If Lang is set to British then the system will use IMP (5 quart) gallons in the calculations and the OBC will read quite a bit higher MPG than actual (US).

Not sure about later years but that is what it does on my 2010.

Man I don't know where you get the self control. Best I've done commuting is 32mpg. 27-28 is more typical. I just can't seem to stay under 70

(09, S, no roof rails, stock.)

I just drove from Boston to Syracuse with the cruse control on at 70mph and only managed to get 32.5mpg

2009 Clubman S
Sport Mode Off
100% Highway

I am wondering if snow tires make a difference?
