Window problem, part deux

I have seen several threads about windows going up and not staying up, I tried the re-initialization which did not work so went to the dealer for the software upgrade a few months ago. Worked great, no problems since then, until tonight.

Walked out of grocery store, hit the remote to open doors and when I got to passenger side, the window was half way down. Had a serious concern that I had forgotten to close window (nah, it has been raining all day) then when I went over to the driver side, same thing. I know I had the keys with me, the windows were closed when I went into the store, and no one was playing pranks on me, so...

Any idea of what happened? Oh no, hopefully not another software update, that takes a long time.

Thanks in advance,

Well if you held the unlock button down just a little to long this will happen as the car is programed to open the windows if the unlock button is held down. Thing is as soon as you release it the windows stop moving, so if you want them all the way down you have to hold the unlock button until they have finished moving.

Pops the top, too... if you have the sunroof option. Great feature on a hot day...

Cheers...

Thank you

I did not know that, I'll have to try to recreate holding the unlock down.

I do think I held it down longer then normal since I was juggling bags and avoiding the rain.

Thank you

Defective door lock mechanism and/or moisture in the door wiring harness connector has been attributed to causing this issue with the windows opening half-way on their own (mostly in the rain, of course).

Quite a few forum members have had this happen, including myself. My vehicle they only greased the harness and the issue has not reoccurred.
