Will a parking light out trigger a check engine light?

My cel light came on. I had the code checked and it says No Error Code, but my right fog light parking light is out, and it displays message saying there is a problem with it.
Does Parking light being out trigger Check Engine Light?

Not as far as I know; the CEL should not be triggered due to a bulb out. Could have been coincidental...?

Sometimes CEL's get thrown intermittently; the CEL will 'latch,' but the cause has cleared. In some cases with some vehicles, if the cause does not return, the CEL will clear on its own. Not sure if such is the case with the MINI, however...?

i did leave a big piece of information out. but i think your right, bulb out shouldnt have anything to do with cel light.
i replaced the bulb and bulb error msg went away but cel light still on. i tried resetting battery and cel light still on. i had autozone check for code twice and both times it says no error found.
ok the big piece of info..
my wife rear ended a truck last thursday. yeah rrrrr.
she barely hit them . didnt leave a scratch on the truck but the mini took a beatn to the hood and right headlight and grill. im guessing 10-15mph impact maybe. if she were another truck i think both would be ok but these minis are tendor.
so my guess is the cel is on has something to do w that but its not throwing a code? when the insurane whoever fixes it im guessing they may have a better tool to scan/fix?
does car being in an accident give you any more ideas what it could be?
maybe itll go away

Yeah, the impact could have been the catalyst, but it's hard to say exactly what's issue...

If the airbags didn't deploy, but the vehicle thought they should have, perhaps that's the problem...? I don't know; I'm just speculating... It might take a MINI dealer to determine what's at fault in your vehicle...

Good luck!

You need a scanner that's more than just generic OBDII.
With the CEL illuminating, there are hard code(s) stored in the ECU non-volatile memory.
Removing battery power from the ECU won't reset / remove the fault; the scanner can only do such.

Grab hold a Bavarian Technic scanner or a BMW-specific scan tool to check for faults.

I would think that any OBDII scanner would read the code (it is a standard afterall). Are you certain it's the CEL and not something else? Is it showing in the tach or the speedo?
