When I drive my Clubman S, the turbo-lag is horrendous! Anyone else have this problem too? What did y'all do to curb the effects?

It looks like you're in TX so heat may be part of the issue. If that's the case a lager front mount intercooler would help to lower the temp. If not, I'd suggest looking for areas you may be losing pressure as I'd say it's not severe compared to many turbos I've driven.

I live in alabama, I'm used to heat and mine has very little lag. I'm actually quite impressed at how little lag I have compared to my girl's GLI.

OK, I bought the car 1/31/2011 (my first MINI) used from the BMW/MINI Dealer with 37K miles and a warranty good for 50K.

I hadn't driven it in a couple of months until 2 weekends ago. After about a hundred miles it threw a CEL and lost a HUGH amount of power. I checked the on board computer, it shows me the exhaust symbol. I took it to the dealership, after 3 day in the shop, and it was diagnosed and repaired as the cold side boost tube was cracked. Car seems to have much more power than ever before. Now, its HELL to get it rolling in first gear, after that, its not too bad. It just feels like its about to fall on its face as I pull away from the red light or stop sign. I don't remember it acting this way before.

Uh, sorry guys...I think I found the problem.

I always drive in sport mode, so I bought one of those chips that auto-enable it after starting the car. I forgot to plug it back in after its trip to the dealership. I hit the sport button (forgot it was there), and it seems to be running GREAT!

Thanks for the help and input tho guys.

Do you have logs or a boost gauge at all? I mean you cant say you are truely having a problem with out logging the data coming from the ECU. There maybe a lot of reasons.

Heat would be a big one.. are you in sport mode? In sport mode there is no such thing as turbo lag really..

So I think we need more info.
