16" to 15" for Winter Wheels/Tires?

Has anyone dropped from the 16" wheels and tires to a 15" set? I recently got my 2011 Clubman and I'm considering a set of winter wheels and tires in the 15" size. I can get the steel wheels in that size. Mine came with the 16" (195/55-16) option, so I just want to make sure the 15" will fit. Would I want the 195/60-15 tire size to keep the speedo accurate? Thanks!

There should be a calculator on the Tire Rack website to confirm the -1 downsizing. My winters are 195/60-15, but 185/65-15 is listed as an alternate if you want something a little more skinny for cutting through the snow. My speedo is off by 5km/hr with both winter or summer tires - so no noticeable difference for me.

A justa-Clubman should be OK with 15". An S will need 16".

I have 15" alloys because they were only slightly more expensive than steelies. Since I leased my current justa-Cooper, I wanted to cut down on costs. If it were my own car, I would have stuck with 16" for winter and maybe a light weight set of 17" for summer. With my JCW on order, I have no choice but to go for 17" winter wheels.

If it is "just-a Cooper" the front disk brakes have smaller rotors and should allow for 15" wheels. Talk to Tire Rack.

Thanks for your input. I just ordered with Discounttiredirect and got alloy wheels in the 15" size with Michelin X-Ice tires in 185/65-15. The package was $698 and I will receive a $70 Visa card for going with the Michelins, so that knocks it down to $618. Free shipping, too. Sounded good to me. Thanks again.

Thanks for your help on this. I got the tires and wheels ordered. Not that I'm in a hurry for snow...
