Steering/front susp.: how long before something needs to be replaced?

Mine '09 with 23K+ already has something clanking in front when going over speed bumps. I wouldn't expect DC roads to be extra nice to 17" wrapped in 40% runflats, but still, only 23K?

it can happen. those top strut mounts can give/loosen pretty easily, as well as sway bar links (though the stock ones shouldnt hit anything)

Could also be as simple as a brake shield.

The stock shocks are as many will tell you, garbage, though they usually just wear out quick, not necessarily start making noises

I think loose lug nuts will make a clicking noise IIRC

Well, I'm curious about real life experiences. I used to own BMW 3 series (E46) they were known for pre-upgrade control arms going bad every 30-50K miles - and mine went almost as per the schedule. What about 2nd gen Minis?
