Upgrading a Clubman to Clubman S

I have a 2004 Cooper S and my wife has a 2008 Clubman.

I commute 130 miles a day and I've invested in a smaller pulley, larger exhaust, etc. to increase performance on my Cooper S. I've been wanting to buy the new MINI Roadster when it arrives but my wife is reluctant for me to get into debt tens of thousands of dollars so she has offered to trade vehicles. As long as modifying the Clubman isn't anywhere near the cost of a new car, I come out ahead.

I know there's a huge difference between a Clubman and a roadster, but her argument does have economic merit. Technically, how hard/expensive/feasible is converting a Clubman to a Clubman S? Can one buy the turbo kit and have it installed?

It's a tempting offer, as her Clubman is a gorgeous Chocolate on Chocolate with a convenience package not available when I bought my Cooper in late 2003.

Has anyone upgraded a Clubman to a high perfomance S model and if so, how much did it cost?

Never heard of anyone trying to do that after-market. Why not sell hers and buy a used Clubman S?

It's not financially worth the effort, just simply trade and purchase the S model instead.

All the electrical components (ECU, etc etc) are coded to each specific vehicles chassis No!

Not only are they coded differently between the engines many of them are actually different so they would need to be replaced at cost.

It would cost you more than if you were to trade in the Justa for an S.

Thanks for the quick answers. That's depressing. Guess I should just continue saving a drive my MCS until it drops then see what I can afford.
