Strange happenings

So today i was on a race against time to pick up one of the new 250GB Xbox 360s. I was driving about 85-90mph the whole way in sport mode in the Clubman S. Driving back i was driving the speed limit and sport mode off, i noticed that the engine was quite.. and we all know our little Prince isn't the quietest of motors, but it was whisper quiet and buttery smooth.. Felt like the GF's 2010 GTI. Is this normal? Anyone else experience this? I'm enjoying it but, i just found it rather strange. I've never opened the motor up for such a long period of time before, not sure if that does something to the motor but it sure feels like it.

Can't say that it has anything to do with anything you experienced with your car, but based on my own observations: I've noticed that my vehicles (regardless of make/model) don't like to sit idle for extended periods of time. It's always good to "blow the carbon" out of them on a regular basis! They just seem to run better when they're run regularly! And "stretching their legs," so to speak, at 85+ mph probably doesn't hurt them any either...

Unfortunately, my job is making that task (keeping my vehicles running regularly) a bit of a chore at the moment...
