Mini computer hack anyone??

I have an 09 Clubman. I would like to disable the seatbelt chime. I wear my belt about 95% of the time but I do many .5 to 1 mile trips around work (all private roads) and would like to disable it?

Any ideas??

Welcome to our own special hell!

The seat belt chime plays thru the radio speakers, and is completely integrated into the software in the car - bottom line, you can't turn it off. Many have tried, all have failed.

Solutions include but not limited to putting the belt on (I put mine on before I even insert the key so I won't hear the damn thing at all!) each time, clipping the right side belt in the latch, clipping the belt in and sitting on it, buying just the end of the belt and sticking that in the clip.......but turning the miserable thing off completely is not one of them.

Sorry, wish I had better news......

As others have said Not Possible.

Although there is actually a software setting it is not available to be changed in the US spec software as it is a federal requirement.

There are a number of threads on this subject in the Modifications/Electrical section.

I personally have spent more than 120 hours working on a solution to come up with only one. Use a Chimex or a an OEM buckle, Even a plastic one will not work.

If you want to do a LOT more reading on this subject check out this thread.

P.S. this forum is broken down very well for question different sections of the car I.E. NAV and Audio, Modifications (electrical, drivetrain, suspension etc) so searching the proper section will reveal answers to many question you may have.

Yes we've had several people get the CHIMEX and that will solve the noise.
