Active Cabin Filtration?

So...trying to decide on options as my other thread mentioned. But for this thread a very specific question: Doesn't every Mini have cabin filtration regardless of AC choice? If so - is the claim of "active cabin filtration" with automatic AC just marketing noise?

is there a difference in filtration if you stick with the regular AC vs. auto? I've searched the web and threads and really can't find much detail. I'm suspicious it is just another of way of saying a micron / hepa filter is dropped in to replace the "standard" filter...

Anyone with details?

I believe the "active cabin filtration" you're referring to is the automatic recirculation function that comes with the auto climate control

The auto climate control has an active carbon filter. The manual climate control does not have a carbon filter (just a regular paper filter for dust).

The filters are the same physical size so if you want the manual control and the carbon filter, you could swap the filters.
