JCW Tuning Kit available now!

If MotoringFile is correct (they usually are), then the JCW tuning kit (Stage 1) is available immediately for the Clubby in both manual and auto versions!

This news is tempting. We are picking up our 2009 Clubman S Sparkling Silver this Saturday. This could be a good first mod.

I will be calling tomorrow to schedule my install! I've been waiting for this kit since I ordered my car.

Anyone know the install charge? Or better - how many hours labor do they say it is? Including the programming, of course.

I read elsewhere here that you can get these kits for about $1680 and install is about 3 hours labor

For the R56/57 the install recommends 3 hours of labor. I'd assume the same for the R55

JCW Stage 1 kit

I have two questions:

Is it worth getting for the $2,100 plus 3 hours labor for instalation?

If so, how can it be purchased for less?

I live in south florida and am enjoying my Clubby.

I think it might be worth it if you consider an aftermarket exhaust at around $1000, air intake $300, remote RMW tune ~$1000. Plus you have no threat to the factory warrantee.
Any other thoughts on how to obtain similar performance gains, without sacrificing reliability, for a similar expense?

To keep the warranty intact while getting the extra kick in the pants, totally worth it. Can more be done in the aftermarket world? Sure. But when something breaks, you will have to fight to have it covered under warranty, which could end up costing more $ per HP gained in the long run.

Until something breaks in the engine, and MINIUSA blames the aftermarket CAI. While you are shelling out the $1000+ to fix it, your $/HP just shot up.

'Stage 2' is the factory JCW. Which is available for Clubmans.
