I've been a good boy

I've been a very good boy for the break-in period prescribed by MINI. Nothing above 4k RPM and below 90MPH (not too hard around here). One thing I have resisted all this time to help with the "tender" driving is never pressing the SPORT button.

Well, guess who just went over 1200 miles today? The first light I got to after she was broken in, I pressed that magical button.

I have to say I was rather impressed. It does drive like a different car. The throttle response was the most dramatically different aspect. My commute home didn't lend itself to really test out the "tightened" steering, but so far I'm impressed. Now I know why everyone raves about that button.

I've never managed below 36MPG on a tank yet, but I have a feeling this next one might be a little bit lower as I finally get to have some unrestricted fun with the car.

I can see why so many people want to drive with it on all the time. I'll see how things go, but it's probably not a bad idea to go without for a while, so you can really appreciate the added pep.

Yeah, I was pretty impressed with the sport button, too. But I didn't wait until 1200 mi. to try it out.

I always use it unless the roads are wet.

Good stuff.

WOT from day 1. It's a car, not a faberge egg.

Welcome to the sport button club!
