What Tires come standard on the '09 Clubman?

Specifically, which 16" RF-tires come standard on a '09 Clubman-S? (tires only)

I'm trying to find out how much they are worth so I can put them on Craig's List or eBay when my car arrives.

Thanks.

Most commonly it seems to be the Goodyear Excellence. Less so, Continental Conti-Pro Contact. There may be some Dunlops, but I think those are limited to the 17"s. As far as what they're worth? Not bloody much. They're $$$ if you buy them at the dealer, but you're lucky to do much more than give them away, even with essentially no miles on them.

Thanks for the reply. Why does Mini put such a crappy tire on its cars?

It's not a crappy tire (I've the Conti's). It's a very nice tire. It's just that no-one wants run flats.

+1 on the Contis. It's amazing how much better runflats are now than 4-5 years ago. Quiet durable and sticky. But I like my BF Goodrich G-Force Sports better....

OP if U want to sell the runflats, post them on this forum. There are people who trade their MCSs in, and if they dont have RFs, the dealer will dock them up to $1200 off the trade so they can buy ones for a MINI-Next CPO.

+2 The second gen Contis are among the best runflats in the market today. I have them in my 2005 MCS. Wet/Dry traction is superb. Also thread wear rating is to 40K miles, double the mileage rating of most "performance" runflats in the 195/55 R16 family.

Our 2008 Clubman S came with Goodyear Excellence runflats. Very good tire. I still think the Conti Contact-Pros are better but they are wearing very well with 5K mile rotations.

I believe now MINI is fitting most cars ordered with 16" tire/wheel package with Contis.

Oh and the Contis are much cheaper to replace than the Goodyears.

PS: My 2005 MCS originally came with 16" V-Spoke R84 wheels and Dunlop SP500 SSR 1st gen runflats (195/55/R16).

Second generation runflats have improved considerably over first gen offerings that came as OEM from MINI.

My Dunlops only lasted 22K miles and that was with 4K mile rotations. Next, I put a set of Goodyear Excellence that only lasted 25K miles (The Excellence have a threadwear rating of 200 = 20K miles). Now I am on my third set at 53K miles with the Contis and these are my favorite so far. They are wearing very well too.

when I got my car last Nov I went to Discount and bought road hazard warranties for the Contis. I asked the guy how much each new Conti was, out the door installed and fully warrantied. I nearly died when he said $172. That's about 45% less than what I was quoted for Dunplops last summer right before I traded devil's chili red hell child in....

Oh and I only managed 17K on my factory Dunplop 9000s.

Wow! I was just looking up my tires(Goodyear Excellence 195/55R16) on tirerack.com and they want $209 each. I like them but I don't think I will replace them with the same. I can't remember what I had on my '05 MC but those runflats were loud and rough riding. They also wore funny.

A plan perhaps?

You know, if you lived in a MINI-dense area, you could conceivably keep tires on it for a relative pittance by scooping up low mileage run-flats when folks either upsized or just wanted rid of them.

The Contis are much cheaper than the Goodyear Excellence. I have seen the Contis SSRs retailing for nearly $100 less than the comparable Goodyears.
