R55 Am I missing something? Like a jack and lug wrench?
Is there more space under the foam block? Haven't had mine out.
George, I think plenty of us will replace the run flats with regular radials, when it's time. We need a donut and the jack/tools.
Dealers quote around $1400 for run flats. Even alternate websites and sellers will cost around $1000. The ride will be quite a bit smoother.

Paid $213 installed for a 16" conti runflat replacement.(ETD) I could have gotten them cheaper but had no time to order or bring in the tire rack price to get a discount. Drove 100+ miles on the runflat to get home glad it was on the rear and not the front, because the car handled poorly with the flat and it killed the gas milage on that tank. I was in the middle of nowhere at 11pm at night when it happened in an area which is not patrolled this time of year after 6:00pm and cell service is spotty at best. Had I had a compressor and a tire plug it would have been better than driving on the flat. Any time you get a flat and drive on it, its a total loss. BTW Im told that the fix a flat stuff they provide on some vehicles destroys the TPM valves.
Getting the foam out clears up a little bit of space (1" ?). The well is a nice round shape without the foam.
I want Mini to come up with a piece of luggage that fits the space. Then two or three bags that will fit the subfloor space.

Beasley, your pics show you have a Non S.
You have regular tires, a better ride and a spare.
Duuuuude! Runflats are a pain. My tires are 16".
I thought the option for All Weather tires meant the tires were still run flats. Now I'm confused.
Mr. Ray, there are other threads on NAM addressing the Donut in the Clubman S.
From memory...and I don't vouch for total accuracy:
I believe the spare is 15" and fits only on the front(tire pressure monitor sticking out issue?), so if your flat was on the rear, you'd have to take the front tire and move it to the rear. Hmmm...chinese fire drill there with one jack.
For a rear flat, take off the inflated front tire, put on the donut...take off the flat rear, put on the tire that was on the front....have a beer.
We need the statements of those who do have the donut tire added to their Clubman S.

After last post by DragonWagon, does anyone know how the tire pressure monitor works on the Mini? This is confusing as comparing to a tech service manual that I was able to download for my wife's Crossfire. On the Crossfire, there is a module that is part of the valve stem and resides on the inside of the wheel. There is a battery in the module to transmit a RF signal to the cars monitor for tire pressire and the sensor does not activate until is senses the wheel is turning more than 20mph. It must shut down to save the battery when it senses the wheel had not turned after a certain period to save the life of the sensor.
Just trying to understand how this car works as it appears service manuals on this car are not available. That is why I will keep it until at least the warranty is up.
Thanks,
George

One other point, if you have the LSD you want to put the donut on the rear regardless. it is never a good thing to run different size tires on the drive axle of a vehicle with a limited slip differential. It causes the diff to slip to make up for the difference is size and it can ruin it rather quickly.

You never want to drive with a donut on the front of the car not only does it affect limited slip diff it affects the steering. I would think it would be the same for a flat on the front too. Anything larger than th 15" donut wont fit in the tire well. If the Brakes are larger on the S then Im guessing that the 15" donut wont fit the car.
The TPM sensor is built into the valve stem on the wheel on the newer version. Dont know where the receiver is located or how it works.
I have an 08 Clubman S with 17" web spoke run flats (sport package). It came with the styrofoam shelf containing the jack, wrench, tools and the tow hook. No spare was included because Mini claims you can run 80 miles on a run flat with a hole the size of a golf ball.
I have switched out the run flats (currently for sale $425 for the set) to all season Toyo Proxes 4's. I did ourchase a donut spare so should I have a flat with the non run flats, I have a spare. The run flats while sticky and good looking were too harsh for this driver.
I, too, think Mini is off track here but no jack etc. in the 2009's is what I have read numerous palces. It is an obvious cost cutter in production, as well.

Where did you get the donut, what size is it, and have you tried it on the car? Does it fit in the tire well. I dont like the idea of not having a spare even with the runflats.
I bought it from my local Mini dealer, $256 for tire and rim. Yes it fits right down in the lowest level of the tire well, under the styrofoam tray. I do not have the center bolt to hold it tight and from rattling/jumping. I did not try it on the car wheel hub when changing out the tires. It is the same four bolt pattern.
The styrofoam tray does not go back in place so I am going to the dealer today to inspect a Clubman (non S) and how they have the donut and tools packed in from the factory.
For the moment, I have the jack etc. plus some cleaning supplies in a small vinyl tool bag. I really don't care about the styrofoam tray so much. I carry extra tools on board plus cleaning supllies so this little toll bag is with me anyway.
The rim is a 3 1/2 X 15. The tire is a 115/70/15. The tire is the majority of the expense, but the bolt patter is critical. One might save a few bucks buying the rim from Mini and the tire from another source. I didn't want to go through that hassle. Be sure to get a valve sten when you buy the rim and tire.

I just had a call with my MA on an unrelated issue and mentioned the missing jack and lug wrench. He checked with the Sales Manager and according to him my S with runflats should have a jack and a lug wrench and they will get them for me.
This is from Mini of San Antonio TX so I will let you know if they come through. He said to check back at the end of next week.
