R55 Can we have an M.S.R.P. ONLY thread, PLEASE!?
Hrm I guess I should add Downtown Mini in Orlando has a $389 processing/dealer fee. Anyone else have that from them, or is it something I can talk them out of when the MINI comes in.
Cybergypsy, I know you ordered from there, did you pay that?

I hate to go against anyone or be an ***, but I think we've covered this thread many upon many times. Mini is up huge percentages over the last month and last year's sales this time last year. You are going to pay MSRP if not more and there is a wait time from 1-9 months to get your name pulled for a build, I'm not sure how many more threads need to be about this. Maybe we need to sticky "known facts about purchase" at the top so we can point people in that direction instead of having to look at yet another "did you pay MSRP?" thread.
If you read in between the lines of the title of this thread you'd figure that was the idea. I'm absolutely surprised this hasn't been done already.
Amanda is super nice. I was about to order from her at South Bay. She quoted a February delivery. On a whim I called Las Vegas and they had a slot open for production starting the next week, so I jumped on it. I told Amanda I had gone elsewhere and she said, "as long as you are out motoring in a MINI, that's all that matters." I thought it was a classy thing to say since I didn't end up ordering from her.
At Las Vegas I received MSRP, though there was a $400 doc fee. Not sure if that is BS or not. I couldn't talk my MA out of it (said it was required in NV) but he did throw in floor mats. Overall, good experience with Dennis there. Plus, my build is last of the '08s so the price was actually cheaper than an '09. Figured even with a flight to Vegas and any hassles re: smog check and CA DMV, it will be worth it to be motoring come October.

Yes, we bought from there as well, and the $389 dealer fee is already pre-printed right on the sales order (regardless of selling price).

Simply demand $389 off MSRP. Invoice on these things is at least 2K below MSRP, so it's not like you are victimizing them! LOL
They remembered me as being a past customer from one of their other dealerships so they honored it. However, I don't know if that would work for a first-time customer, particularly on a Clubman. In the end, it still showed on the sales order as a $389 dealer fee. Personally, I don't care how they play with the numbers, as long as the bottom line is acceptable to me. Wow, that sounds pretty cool. Im kind of distressed thinking perhaps mine will end up coming in February. It'll be a disaster cause my current least will be up in December. When did you order your Clubman? Who helped you? Any special processes that need to be done since you're buying the car in Vegas?
No special procedure from what I know. I have to buy some $8 pass from the dealer to let me drive the car out of Nevada. I didn't know about this smog check business that people were talking about, but I guess I'll find out when I get back to CA. The dealership transmits the sale to the CA DMV, so they should know what is up. Also when I get back to CA I will have to pay the sales tax. I can let you know more once I get it. Waiting for the ship to come and then the long travel out to CA is really something! (and my ship for some reason is slower than any other ship making the same route by 6 days!

What is it with these outrageous deposits? Anything over 1K is just dumb, 'good faith' should not cost one that much interest.
Irvine was 1K, but somehow South Bay never requested a deposit.

Yeah, I thought 1K was the standard. My MA asked for 10% and then lowered it a little to 2.5K. If my build time had been any further out I would have balked, but since the build was happening so soon I let it go.
OMG I HATE YOU!
I ordered 8/8/08. Called Las Vegas around 4 or 5pm. Talked to Dennis Beecher, who walked me through the ordering. I already knew what I wanted from the configurator and reading NAM, but since I was getting an '08 and the configurator was on the '09s, Dennis was extra careful to make sure we covered everything. Originally he had a slot for week 34, but production was moved up to week 33. I paid $2,500 deposit on my credit card. Right now it's built and waiting to get on a ship on the 23rd.

)That means I would have received my 08 Clubman in October if I had went ahead with the order in late July. I had also talked to Dennis at the time as well. Ugh, Im stressed out now haha. Does it have to be a $2500 down payment? I only had to put $1k at South Bay Mini.
EDIT: Ok, I just called Dennis and he quoted me possibly early November which sounds better than a maybe November time/February deal from South Bay. His down payment was a little higher buts its calculated to be 10% of the vehicle's cost. However he said he'd be able to maybe drop it down to $1500. Either way all that money goes towards the car no biggy. He's out of the office today but he'll email me specifics tomorrow.

10%? Crazy talk. I don't get the deposit thing. We aren't ordering Chrysler mini vans with weird interior options. If I for some reason back out, someone will DEFINITELY buy it from the dealer. I know my dealer last month had 0 cars for sale, so people are snapping up every MINI they can.
Aye, that's how I saw it. Just a little less I have to pay when the car gets there. However, I think I do have the option of getting back if I choose too and finance the entire amount.
Ditto on my JCP. However, they normally add $500. They subtracted it again on my sales order as a discount and threw in the JCW floor mats. I asked them for that since I've leased 3 new and purchased 2 CPO BMWs from them in the past.
I do have an S, so it can be done. I also got free floor mats and wheel locks. $1000 refundable deposit (by CA law, the deposit must be refundable- don't let anyone tell you otherwise) and the only thing I paid on top of tax/license was the $8 CA tire disposal fee and $50 for DMV paperwork.
