It's not so much a name as a title. Sooper Cooper. It just felt right.

Yes, I suppose you are right; it is a title -- like "the Queen."

Neither will a cat but they got names, mostly.

(...a particularly humorous thread, this.)

I jokingly named my car The Reaper after running over a bird and a squirrel on a twisty run with the SCMM club. It was nuts here I am rippin up some twistys and a bird flew under my front end, the next thing I see is a bunch of feathers shooting out the rear of my car. Shortly after that a squirrel runs across the road and I hear a thud.

Have you carved those two notches into your steering wheel?

Of course it's okay not to name your MINI, but then you don't have to name your pet or your child either. Just put NFN (no first name) and NMI (no middle initial) on the AKC registration or birth certificate.

I was thinking about that when I had my Civic (which I traded in for the Mini) and hit 2 armadillos...

Had a bird stuck in the grille on my Nissan pickup once. Didn't notice for a few days....peeeeuuuuwwww

I am not sure I remember our family having a car and not naming it, as a child. Just always named mine when I started driving. I just got a 2005 that is BRG with white top and mirrors. Ludwig just seemed appropriate. With my Mom being British and also a bigger Classical music fan than me, she loved both the color and name! Mind you, if I am referring to Ludwig to my husband, I would probably refer to him/it as "the mini" because he thinks it silly.

I was thinking about what to name my new Mini Clubman (still on order) and decided on the Blue Magoo.

Then I do a forum search and sure enough there had been a Blue Magoo here several years ago. I don't think he stayed around long though.

I'll probably still use it. I always name vehicles.

Yam the Bomb is my motorcycle by the way.

There is no need to name your MINI. After driving it for a while he/she will tell you its name. lol

There are many a testimonial to that already if anyone doubts painter's veracity.

Due to my embarrassing obsession with the Beastie Boys, I named my Clubman "MCA" after Adam Yauch passed. I normally don't sport decals but I'm thinking about putting a little "MCA" in the bottom corner of the long side window.

Naming your car is your business but calling it by name in conversation may confuse some people and rush their opinion on you

My family is kinda crazy. We've always named all of our cars wether they had personality or not. Most of the names were inside jokes but some were just names.

-My MINI is "Pip" cuz it's british and is a little bit of an inside joke between my friends.

-Dad's white F250 King Ranch "Princess" because he treats it like a princess.

-Step Mom's greenish Windstar mini van "Shelia Parker" inside joke.
--Her other car is a Tarus named "Dr. Shannon Doah Robinson" obviously an inside joke.

-Sister's Mercury Milan is name pending.

-Other sister's old beige Chevy Prizm was "Don Farmer" inside joke.
--She now has a silver VW Cabrio "Silver Fox"

-Other other sister's red Cobalt "Sesha Hollinsopis" inside joke that we can't remember.

-Family beater we got from an estate sale, '89 light blue Accord is "Burt" it's a fitting name for a beater.

And yes, we have basically a parking lot in our back yard lol.
