Wheel cleaning

I am interested in finding a tool or something that will help me clean my wheels. I can sort of reach the back of the wheel through the spooks on the back wheels. But I really have problems in the front, especially around the brakes. I want the entire wheel to be clean, but can't get past the brakes...is there a tool that will be flat enough and have the scrubbing ability to clean all the way back on the wheels. I have 17 inch wheels..see gallery for pictures.
Any assisteance would be great.

A hydraulic floor jack and four jack stands.

Seriously... if you really want to clean your wheels, front and back, take them off the car, give them a good cleaning and reinstall them.

BTW... for the most responses to detaling questions, post them in the Detailing 101 forum under General MINI talk.

I use these, the standard length one with my stock 17's. They clean the wheel bolts and can get inside by the caliper and inner wheel very easily. Definitely not as good as removing the wheel from the car but for daily/weekly cleaning they work just fine.

I recommend these as well. Be sure to get the long-handle versions.

I have three of those. One is slightly used. Want them ?

I found them to be pretty useless to clean the back side of the wheels. They're not long enough nor flexible enough for that. And I'm a Griot's fan. Just not a fan of those.

And for the front side, if you put a good wax or wheel shield on the wheels, you don't need any kind of scrubbing tool.

Clean Wheels

I use a soft toilet bowl brush shapped like a bullit.
I leave the car in neutral and roll it a little, to get what is behind the caliper.
Works good for me. of course I have a flat concrete driveway.
The BEST preventative thing I did was to take the wheels off clean them real good and WAX them. it is alot easier to clean now.
I stopped using Wheel cleaners, since it stips the wax too quickly.
The soap water for the car does a great job on waxed wheels.

+1 I jsut don't have a flat drive so after cleaning each wheel i roll the car half a turn to get the part that was behind the caliper.

I take the wheels of every 4-5 washings to do a super job and reapply wax.
