Sirius Radio Issue

Does anyone have information on the Sirius Radio issue? My clubman did not have the factory installed one; I decided on the dealer installed version with 1 year of service instead of the lifetime one since they are now part of XM. I have not been able to have the module installed yet as I keep being told that Mini has had a software issue and have not resolved it yet. Does anyone know about this issue? Has anyone had the dealer installed version put in and does it work?
Thanks. I am getting impatient since it has been nearly 2 months since I bought my Clubman.

Sirius and XM are two completely separate companies at this time. For more audio discussion, please see this forum: https://www.northamericanmotoring.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=201

Unless it's too late to cancel the order, have you considered simply adding an aftermarket portable Sirius or XM unit? You'll save hundreds of dollars and be able to use the portable on your home stereo, as well. Also, if and when Sirius and XM merge, there's a good possibility that the receivers will be changing as well, so an upgrade will be much easier. The biggest downside would be lack of integration with the MINI audio system, as you have to use the portable unit's controls to change stations. Some think it's a big deal, others, like me, don't have an issue with it. I have an XM Roady2 unit in a Belkin "cupholder" mount, it was incredibly easy to install, and the sound through the Aux input is great! My Roady2 was $25 on a close-out at BestBuy last year, and the Belkin cupholder mount was less than $20 on Amazon. Add less than $5 for an audio cable for the Aux-in connection, and you're done!
