Dogs?

I am thinking about buying a Clubman S and am wondering how well my greyhound will fit in the car? She is about 28in tall at her shoulders. I know that in my surfing around the board have seen some other greyhound owners. If possible I would like to see some pictures of a grey in a clubman.

Thanks for the link. The thread you linked to does not actually answer my question. Thanks though.

So does anyone have pictures of their greyhound in the back of their Clubman? If you have a Clubman is it working out well for you and your hound?

Hang in there - cloud10 is a member here who has at least one greyhound and I'm sure you'll get a response regarding all of this. I don't know if there are any photos in her posts showing her dogs in the back of her Clubman or not, but I'm sure she'll be helpful.

I guess you already saw this post within that above referenced threadhttps://www.northamericanmotoring.co...8&postcount=97

I can fit my yellow lab and shepherd/greyhound miscellaneous in my R53 with no problem or crowding issues whatsoever. With more space and a flat cargo floor, I'd imagine the Clubman will accommodate a greyhound very well.

I don't have any pictures of the two of them together in the back, but here's one of our lab from last April. He's sitting behind the passenger seat, basically taking up that amount of floor and that's it. Plenty of room besides.

Hi there.
I do have two Greyhounds and bought the Clubman for them, well at least that was the excuse for the family.
Morgan is 28 inches to the shoulder, Mai Tai is about 25 inches to the shoulder. I took Mai Tai to the vet in it a week or so ago to donate blood. She could stand in it and seemed to enjoy putting her head out my window over my shoulder. She had more than enough room to lay down and relax and I think there would have been no problem with both of them in it.
I tried to get Captain Morgan to go in, but he balked at it as it was new and he is the shy one.
I think it would be tight for him to stand, honestly, but as I prefer they lay down while riding I would still bring him in it if I could get him to go in. YOu know the drill, "I can't jump up there, you need to lift me..."
I will say that when Mai Tai got out it was a bit tight for her shoulder area at the very back. I think her harness was rubbing on the roof and she was a bit timid, but it was her first time, too.

They prefer the Nissan Titan back seat to ride in, but that is because the are window dogs and that truck has a lot of room in back for standing and also fits the 30-pound Doberman who is over 33 inches at the shoulder. Henry the DObe has to travel in the truck as he has severe arthritis in his knees at 3 so the truck is easiest for him.

I got a retired racers badge for the grille. Looks great.
One reason I didn't buy an MCS was I wanted the Clubman for the Greys. I'm not sorry I did it and I bought the back area bed liner to keep it pristine.

PM me if you need any more info. I can try to take a photo of Mai Tai in it later tonight. I'm at my shop now and she is home resting from her effort of waking up.

Doogs and Cloud thanks for the great info. I have wanted one of these since the day they were announced. I am about 90% sure that we will be getting a Clubman now that I know Dory will be able to fit. I have always wanted a Mini and now with the Clubman it has enough room for me to get one. I'm a photographer and the normal Mini just does not have enough room. With the back seats folded down the Clubman should be a perfect fit for my gear and Dory. I really can't wait now. I plan on purchasing the Clubman around September

Congrats!

I actually just put the order for mine in today. Well, actually my parents did as proxies. I've got a four-day old newborn at the house, so making the trip from Austin to San Antonio (the boot latch on my R53 was broken and needed service) wasn't exactly doable.

Should be receiving my CR/B Clubman S in June!

You should also know that with the rear seats up (and in the perfectly vertical position using the adjustable seat back latch) my 27" GoldenDoodle ("Cooper") comfortably fits in the wayback. However, removing the wayback floor provides another 5"-6" inches of Cooper headroom and allows him to stand and rest his muzzle on the back seatbacks.

I "test fit" him to make sure I could transport him and three other humans!

Congrats on the newborn and the Clubman to be. The Chile Red/Black is so beautiful in person. That was my final selection and it is stunning. I put a few photos in my gallery, but they hardly do justice to it in person. My best photos are going into an article I wrote on it for Roundel. I waited 782 days for my Clubman. I think elephants give birth in less time.

I think it will be the May issue, but I'll know when we get it. My husband urged me to write one after living with my 2-year obsession. It was a lot of fun and really it follows the obsession we all have with our cars from the day we decide to order until delivery. Yet I'm ready to start the incredible ride all over again now. I've written for a lot of magazines through the years, but this has to be my favorite one. It must be so much fun to work full-time with car magazines. Maybe in the next life!!

Do this back area liner just cover the boot in the Clubman or the entire area when the seats are folded foward??

It covers the boot with a slight extension onto the back seats--about 2" or so.

We were lucky enough to have a Greyhound share with us until he passed a few years ago. But our 9lb mini dachshund will surely fit!

The liner I bought that is made for the Clubman fits the entire back area and it hooks onto the headrests of the front seats. It is like a truck bed liner with black and white checkered sides, black on the bottom. You can make it fully four sided at the back end by inserting the rod across the back area where the cargo cover fits. However I left the back area down flat so the dogs could get in, otherwise it goes across where the back doors are. I know Motoring File had a photo of it. I think it cost around $250.

I've pretty much told my Min Pin that it can be his car. He loves it. He doesn't love to share with the big dogs, and as he is the senior dog at age 5 he pretty much rules them anyway.

Cloud:

I look forward to reading your article in the Roundel! As a dog lover and car fanatic you hit two chords with me. I adopted a greyhound in 91 while living in Texas. She moved with me back to IL. I had her not quite 10 years before her failing kidneys got the best of her.
I now have two English Pointers that I have adopted, one not quite two years ago and the other in January. I fostered each for months before becoming a failed foster.

Bumgarden:

I ordered my Clubman specifically because the dogs can fit. I already have a 02 MCS, but the extra space, fold flat seats, and rear doors make it a good choice for a "dog car". I should have the car within 10 days or so and will post a pic with the dogs. I already have the PoochStyle.com cargo area cover for the car!

Happy Motoring!

Jim

Very nice looking dogs on that site http://www.poochstyle.com/photo_gall...ails.asp?CID=7 and the covers, etc., look quite good, too.

I have a greyhound. We put the back seats down and covered the back with a blanket and his bed. He loved it! He could lay down and still stare out of the windows. I have a picture of him back there, but it's not that flattering (and he was standing up and yawning).

Hi all! I have my Clubman on order (production should be completed today!). One of the first criteria I had was if my Dalmatian would be able to fit (my husband won't allow her in his Civic -- not that she could scramble in there anyway!). I measured everything to be sure before I ordered, but it's great to see some photos of other dogs in the back! I ordered the same liner that you did, cloud10.

Do any of you have steps or a ramp? Sapphire (my Dal) is 14 years old and I think she'll need some help getting up into the back.
