Here's one I had never seen:

We censor our commercials (tv in generl) way too much in the US. The rest of the world get's the good stuff.

since those clubman commercials sucked so bad lets post the good ones.

I didn't have any problem with any of the commercials....the "one of these things doesn't belong here" gives off an intended vibe (cute, fun, and quirky) and that's about as far as a typical viewer would go watching it in real time. Most of these don't hit the airwaves either so no harm done. They are different from the other offerings and initially do not even come off as car commercials...that also could be considered a good thing if you were to see it at a movie theater or something. In light of all this, I think they succeed nicely.

My favorite MINI commercial was the one w/ the "Ain't No Sunshine When She's Gone" soundtrack where the guy walks past his hot girlfriend because he misses his MINI cabrio more. I also like the ad in the carival setting where the lady mistakes a MINI (trying to find a parking place) for one of the rides.

After viewing the commercials and seeing the Clubman up close and personal yesterday at the Chicago Auto Show, I would have to say I am not impressed. IMHO, and performance/specs NOT being an issue, MINI missed in making the Clubman "roomier". It's like Apple flooding the market with too many versions of the ipod, they are useless in-between models. If room/size/function were truly the focus, they should have skipped the Clubman and gone straight to their future "SAV". I really hate to say it because I want to support all things MINI, but during my inspection of the vehicle, the thought running through my head was, "this is the runt of the Honda Element litter"!
Ouch baby..very Ouch!

I know people plopped down good money to buy Gremlins, Matadors, Pacers, Yugos, Pintos, Mustang II's, etc...... I can knock those vehicles and people buying them but what's the point? They must have had good reasons on buying them. When the new Mini came out, John Cooper liked it and understood that they had to be larger than the originals because of safety concerns. As small as it is, some still argue it is too big. If you want roomier, look somewhere else because this is supposed to be a small car line, appealing to those who like small. To each his own.

Exactly, to each his own. I did not say not to buy it. "I" wouldn't. I just think that if an improvement was to be made in terms of room, why not make it a legitimate 4-door, not 2.5 doors. That I can understand. The future SAV looks interesting and I accept the fact it is big, there is a reason for it. I don't see it in the Clubman.

I love the idea of the Crossman. From the images, it is just the right size and fits my lifestyle perfectly. If I was able to, I would have held out for this vehicle but by then, I probably won't be able to. Also, I don't want to say that I'm settling but it is the Clubman is the only thing out right now that fits the bill for me.

True Joy, I love hearing other's opinions and that is one of the reasons I'm on NAM. So no problem there but I don't understand what you don't understand my response. From what I'm reading, you think the Clubman doesn't fill a niche because it is too close to the Coupe. I think that is exactly why Mini designed it that way. It is for those who need/want the extra 3" in the backseat and more in the cargo area. Because it is slightly larger than the Coupe, it allows it to be just as sporty...just with the added room. With the current and future fuel prices, this vehicle will be a true family vehicle to many instead of the many Tahoes, Expeditions, and the like. The Crossman, as wonderful as that vehicle will be, will be looked at as a "why" car just like the Porsche Cayenne even though it will be sliced bread for me and many others.

Just to clarify, my "I don't understand" response was directed to ClubmanS for his single word reply. I just didn't get it.

Anyway, I agree, if it fits your needs, than so be it. It does not bother or threaten me that it is close to the coupe, rather how far away it isn't. I just feel that those interested in the Clubman would be even happier with more than the 6-8 inch increase.

I can live with our differing views, and here is yet another thread that went on a tangeant...HAHA !

I just saw this one on Youtube and found it absolutely HILARIOUS

...especially when her little boy whines "But I want to ride it" as the mom pulls him away

To think they paid someone good money to come up with that commercial,
I'm buying MCC in spite of the ad.

Did anyone see the commercial where the Clubman's rear doors were used as a pinball machine? That was brilliant!

I think they suck. CP+B the previous Miami based agency had incredible marketing campaign!
They're based in Sausalito?! Maybe they should find out if the money spent having the office there is worth the nice view or the customers' perceptions of their products.
