R52 Convertile Top Module Coding Recall
Convertile Top Module Coding Recall
I ran across this TSB today on AllData. I did a quick search on NAM may not have been exhaustive, and couldn't find any mention so I thought I'd report it. It seems that MINI did not program something correctly in convertibles manufactured between Feb 21, 2006 and April 5, 206. There is a Convertible Top Module (CVM) that is supposed to go into a "Sleep" mode when the vehicle is switched off. CVMs installed in the time frame above were not coded properly and do not go into "Sleep" mode. this causes the batteries to discharge after 7 to 14 days of non driving. MINI will re-code the CVM and, in some cases, replace the battery if you are affected.
Here are the links to the TSBs

Thank you for your diligence. It appears from the link that one of the pages is a sample letter from the dealer to the Owner, so I suppose the intent is to advise us. My car's build date is 03/06, according to the plate on the driver side door jamb. I guess this means I won.
Wow. I may be right there. Gotta go look at the build date. At lest they can fix it fast. Personally I can't concieve of not driving it for 7-14 days though. I have a hard time leaing it in the garage overnight :-)
I never received a letter.
I am right there as far as a build date and I never received a letter about the TSB. Also I will ask them to "top off my gas" since there is a reimbursement code for it.
Thanks for the info.
