Door Will Not Open

The passengers side door will not open from the inside so it looks like it is off to Atlanta. There are a couple of other minor issues I need to get fixed. To bad there is not a dealer closer.

I have had that problem-twice-with my drivers door. There is a cable in the door that come loose from a connection. It takes about an hour to fix. I had heard of other folks with this issue having it return about two weeks later and I had the same thing happen. The second fix seems to have worked(so far).

What Mishka said hehe.

I had that happen to both doors. The dealer near me fixed it and gave it back to me the same day. I had to make an appointment though.

I bet you could fix it yourself by taking off the door panel. If you want instructions how to get the door panel off, let me know.

i have had the same problem happen to both of my doors. I have heard from others that there is a problem with the '05's having their linkage 1/4" too long (i have an '05 mcs). Maybe this problem has not been brought to their attention and it's still happening to some of the 06's.

I have yet to fix my own two doors for 3 weeks now. i have to open the doors from the outside...

im going to request all new linkages since im still under warranty and this will be the 6th time im going in for this.

just my 2 lincolns...

I had the same issue as well (on the passenger side). Luckily, my 10K service was due...

Central locking typically goes out on all MINIs. I had min replaced 20K miles ago. Windows are usually next. The joy of MINI maintenance.

That's not good. We have a new cabrio and have not had any issues yet with this. We'll keep an eye out for this. Thanks for the post!

The fix is better than the original manufacturing. The nice thing about MINI is the willingness to fix things. If you wanted things to work out of the box, buy Japaneese. But that's a bit boring. I've never heard of any asian mixing 7 up with their ale.

No, my soccer buddies have another name. I don't pay much attention. I study their tactics and positioning on the soccer field, but I'm fine with a pitcher of unadulterated stout.
