Shortly after getting our MINI, we were at a car show(but not entered) and had several people tell us that had we entered, they would have voted for our car among all the tricked out rides.
Gr8Force,
How about getting your flames in orange, and have small "highlights" of blue in the flames, say along the lower edge or maybe the tips of some of the flames. That would combine both colors of your car with your flames.
Welcome Jim! Noticed that you're on gravel quite a bit. Doesn't that just freak you out worrying about chipping the paint? I've been on gravel once and I literally crawled over it.
Mishka - I have a pretty solid idea of what the artwork is going to look like. Wish I was an artist so I could show but... I have a special aspect that I don't know if it will pan out but I'm sure the airbrush artist will be able to let me know when it's time.
NemoMINI - Those are most defintely painted on! Check out the link I posted earlier. Post #46
This is awesome! More HO's!

Wow. I can't imagine how long it takes to paint all of that! Hmm... If they're so good at fire, wonder how good they'd be at water... Nemo seems happiest when he's in it. The other night during the really terrible storms, we were the only ones driving 50 mph down East-West connector while everyone else was topping 20. He never skipped a beat! Daddy was so proud...
But I wonder how a watery/reflective type of paint job would look. Hmmm...

Did you take a close look at one of the blue shots? It has water beaded up under the blue fire. Having water beads in orange under a blue flame might be something pretty neat to add.
actually the gravel parking lot was the starting point for a local british car club event, lot of fun driving with classic tr,s, mg's etc, they are so slow and can't climb worth a damn. going to motd. me and another mini5280 club member are headed out tuesday evening after picking up somebody coming through denver from california. the plan is to pick up another car from nebraska in hayes kansas, gather others in kansas city, then join up with the st. louis club then run into fontana village in the afternoon on thursday. look for a colorado plate "jdsmini". hope to see as many ho's there as possible.
welcome onofiveo!

Thanks for the greeting. Just got the HO (that doesn't sound good) a few days ago. Sport, cold, convience pkgs. I've been to the Dragon a couple of times and will probably go at least once more by the fall, so I know how much fun can be had. I can't make the MOTD this time, but I'm game for later events. I'm slowly working my way around the site looking for events, mods and photos. The first thing is an Ipod adapter. Any suggestions??? I'm thinking Icelink Plus.
Welcome ONOFIVEO!
I too want to go to MOTD, but it's a little far for me right now. I'm going hopefully make it to MITM in August though. Also my local Mini dealer does monthly road rallies to places around Utah. Which is nice.
I have my iPod Nano hooked up to the Aux port and neatly tucked in the center armrest. Perfect place to quickly access it and hide it when I'm not in the car. I'm not sure how other iPods fit in there though.

A quick welcome to MyMini05(aka Fred)!
Glad you were able to get on the map. I had tried adding a marker and was getting the same error as you. I never did figure out what was going on.
