Trunk will not open - not bad switch?

The boot lid on my 2005 convertible will not unlock using the trunk switch, they key or the dash switch. I tested the micro switch with a continuity tester (removed the panel with the license plate lights) and the switch appears to be OK.

I then "jumped" power to the unlocking mechanism (behind the spring rewind assembly) inside the tailgate and the locks worked - so not that assembly.

I'm thinking there may be a wiring harness issue getting power to the unlocking mechanism. The harness between the car and the tailgate has a 4 pin connector but I'm not sure what pin does what (other than 1 pin had 12v power which I assume was for the license plate lights).

Is there a separate fuse for just the tailgate, not not part of the central locking fuse (F37)?

Since it does not unlock with the button, the key or the dash switch, I assume there is a wiring issue somewhere. Is there a wiring diagram available for this?

Thanks

Found it thanks to prior post from sternzeit - broken wire inside the boot between the body and boot lid. Man, that wire must be slightly thicker than a hair.

Having the same issue with my trunk. I used my power probe on the wiring. Does not show any shorts in the system. I’m thinking that it could be a body controller issue.

Check continuity thru the rubber conduit, the wires get brittle and break unfortunately.

+1 most of the time it breaks at that bend in the harness.
