Converting an S to a Base

OK, weird question. I'm into SCCA club racing. Have the opportunity to get an S model chassis that will be parted out by a friend of mine. Now the class I want to run will require a base model setup for the engine. My question is in regards to the engine management system/harness and ECU. Being an S model I know the wiring is set up for the forced induction. I can swap in a R50 intake simple enough. Would I need to swap out the entire wiring system?

Sure...the ECM would need to know that the blower / pressure is gone..! Everything to do with the blower would be gone.
The entire ECM mapping would be different, the ECM would need to understand why there is no pressure in the system.

If you swap ECM's, any wiring related to the blower / pressure / pop-off valve, etc., can just hang there as long as an R50 ECM is used.

You would need to raise the compression ratio if an R53 engine is used...right ?
