interior noise reduction in R52 ?

i think the interior sound is a little loud in my R52, sounds like the rear windows are open when driving
the road noise is coming through the open spots in the rear sides where the top goes down

has anyone used sound deadening material to line the rear quarters with success in quieting this noise?

thanks

I have had allot of convertibles over the years and IMO the R52 is about average. The best relative to sound was my 08 135i. Lining the panels is not a bad idea other than gaining access to rear area with the top in place. Would think you are laying on your back/stomach trying to get the stuff inplace. QuietCoat is a paint type product that you can buy on Amazon. Its amazing stuff that the CIA uses to soundproof their secure areas. The Navy uses it on their ships to hold down the noise.

WnW thanks
hard to argue with the CIA and Navy

looks like may be able to get to area through the side panels in the rear around the shock towers

Dyna mat the whole floor was the best thing I saw for an R52. Other than that the r52 is pretty loud compared to the R57 and F57, its more raw and less refined. Which I like for feedback and handling.

does anyone have an idea if pulling the rear plastic fender liners from the fender well and putting dyna mat there and then
reinstalling the liner would be problem in terms of possible moisture issue?
