Wind Deflector for Cabrio

Anybody know anything about this product? It costs $400.00. How is it installed? Is it worth it?

I've not ridden in a cabrio, but I have seen one both with and without the screen as well as talked to people who've driven one both with and without.

I can't say it's worth it or not, but in my opinion the checkered flag version looks fantastic in it.... and the motoring advisor I hang out with said he's taken it out up to 90mph with the windows up, top down, and screen in place and you can literally whisper to the passenger and have them hear you. He said it's quieter that way than the standard hardtop with the sunroof open by far... He's NOT a convertible fan, but he said if here were to get one the windscreen would be a must have.

The parts manager at my dealership has a nice Z4 with windscreen and he says you can literally light a match in it at speed with the screen in place and it won't blow it out.

Oh, and I played around with the "build your MINI" feature at MINIUSA tonight and that WAS an option I chose. So I guess I'd say it's worth it, though again I've not as much as ridden in a cabrio.

I have heard that we are paying over $100 over the same that is being offered over the Atlantic. My position is wait and see...... There will be a company or a group buy in the short term. I just think Mini U.S. is acting as a thief for charging such amounts for some wire and netting.

Over the weekend I saw one on a dealers cabrio. As he unfolded it and snapped it into place he said it really helped stop the wind from hitting you in the back of the head. His girlfriend said it really helped.

Convertible Wind Screen/Deflector

I just drove a MCS Open up to Myrtle Beach from Charleston for a MINI meet/ing. And I think it's worth it. We drove up with out the screen in and drove back with it in. When we arrived in MB, my face was numb from the wind coming back into the front of the car from the rear seats. The ride back was much more pleasureable (not that the ride up wasn't ) since we had the wind screen in. It's a bit pricy but definitely worth the investment. Folds up nice and neat & has it's own carrying bag (which fits in the boot).

Can someone post a picture of the wind deflector? The w ind deflector is not available for non-cabrio MINIs because there is no frame around the glass to hold the wind deflector. If there was, it should not cost more than $69 for a pair of German made wind deflectors which is sold through McNeil automotive.
