I have a 2005 Mini Cooper Convertible that will not release the passenger side latch when going from sunroof mode to stage 2. The mechanic took it apart and identified a broken part but is having a problem identifying what part this is and where to get a replacement.

Can anyone help me identify what part is shown in the first 2 pics and where to find a replacement?

 

I have the same problem on both sides i think it’s parts of the sunroof assembly it can’t be bought as a item have you got some luck in finding it

Maybe some junk yards will that the top box cassette.

 

Does anyone ever try to reproduce them with a 3d printer perhaps it could work

 

I don't know anyone who has done this, used places might have them. Otherwise we have the whole system new.
