R52 BC1 or something else?
BC1 or something else?
Hey everybody. Recently I've just been cursed with Mini problems. A few days ago, I came outside to see my rear quarter window was half way down. I park in the garage, so nobody could have got it open. It also didn't fall of the track because I just had the regulator replaced (ughh). Anyway, I rolled it back up and drove along. Yesterday morning, my radio kept turning on and off suddenly. No warning. Today, that's fine. But wait. There's more. I parked today in the garage, went inside for a while, came back and my brake lights were on all by themselves. The only way I could get them off was to turn then headlights on and the off. Again, my headlights were not on in the first place, my tail lights just happened to turn on. Upon further investigation, I see now that when I press the brake pedal, I have no brake lights. With the headlights on and everything. They turn on with the headlights, but do not get brighter with the pedal. I'm sure I'll come out side to hear my radio blasting on its own tomorrow, and find the tail lights are fine. :/ wtf....
Anyway, I read this could be the BC1, is this true? And if so can I fix it myself? Are there tests to make sure?
Right now the car is sitting with the battery unplugged, which I tried before to reset the ECU, no success. I figure if the battery is unplugged nothing weird will go down while I'm inside.
Thanks!

The cabrio has the bc1 enclosed....makes it a bit more water resistant...
Do you anything, like an i-pod adaptor plugged into the radio...when those go bad, odd items can happen from the random data that is getting spewed onto the cars internal network...
If not I Would Look around for excess water...both drivers and passangerside footwalls...
