I'm about 5k away from an oil change tonight when I got home I checked the oil and noticed it was low so I added some. Not until I had poured about a qt in did I notice the bottle didn't say synthetic. I know so stupid we have 2 bmws and a mini so I just assumed it was synthetic. We had a Jag but got rid of it a few weeks ago so it musta been for the Jag. Anyway did I do something bad? Do I need to get an oil change first thing tomorrow? Or can I just get an oil change in January like I had planned? I always use synthetic and follow the computer intervals. I'm at 119K and I'm the original owner.

 

Nothing bad and you should be fine until January. You can mix the two but you have to remember that the lifespan of the synthetic will be dramatically cut with the Dino oil in there. Just get it change in January and you should be fine.
