R52 2005 MCS Cab Prepurchase
2005 MCS Cab Prepurchase
Hello All:
I have been bitten by the MINI Cab bug...
I'm scheduled to inspect and potentially purchase the following new-to-me Cooper S Cab Car Link on Saturday.
Its a two owner 64,500 mile car with all the options I would want (for the price, as I would love a JCW).
In reading through the forums I know to look for wear on the cab top above the rear side windows, transmission chatter and check the supercharger fluid.
I tracked down the first owner's (0 to 20K miles) dealership for maintenance records, of which they would not give me but confirmed it was regularly worked on. The second owner (20K to 60K) did not have the car worked on at the MINI dealership he bought it from, so no luck there. The dealership (its an Audi store) I'm potentially buying it from stated they replaced the brakes, tires and oil before offing it for sale.
Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
