WATER

As a result of Gustav, the Chicagoland area got some much needed rainfall. It was the first day of rain since taking delivery of the MINI.
When I opened the door, there is alot of water in the sills. I open the wife's car and it is dry as a dessert.

Is this a MINI characteristic?

If water is intruding, I am assuming salt will also intrude come winter. Guess I will need to take extra precautions and make sure I dry the sill.

We had Gustav yesterday also. Buckets of rain. I had to take my son to the airport & was drenched because of the water that drained into the Cabrio while getting in & out. Cabrios do not have the usual rain sills that the coupe has. As a result, I always carry a microfiber towel to sop up the water Unfortunately, it's the nature of the beast.
