Hi All. Just got a 2005 MCS Convert. Red, really nice, already like it. I still love my TR6 though. Couple of questions:

1. How expensive are tops? Any tips to maintaining them?

2. How easy is it to change your own oil and filter? Is synthetic a must?

3. Is E-20 gas OK? Has the 91 RON, but 20% ethanol.

1. Haven't replaced a top but don't think they're cheap. As far as maintaining them - once or twice a year I use a cleaner and protectant. 303 makes a good one and I personally use Ragg Topp.

2. Haven't changed my own oil but there is a good how to on this site. I would say synthetic is a must but there are a lot of oil opinions on this site and for all I know someone will make an argument for it.

3. Haven't the foggiest.

Clear as mud? Most things with Mini's are because there are so many opinions. One thing is constant - fun motoring. Enjoy.
