Newb MINI Owner

Hi everyone, 3 days ago I purchased a '05 Mini S Convert with the JCW that I will be flying to Arizona to pick up in the next week or two when I have time.
I have a few questions...
First I just read here that the JWC package should have red brakes but I'm not seeing that on this one and would like a little input on that.
Second is there anything I should consider to be "must haves" to install as soon as I can?

Cheers

First must-have: Multivex mirror for the right side. Search in this forum for extended threads on it.

Can you post a picture of the car you're buying? I like to see a car before I start making recommendations on what to do to it.

Here is a photo of the car exterior, interior and the motor.

I like the car, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it immensely. However, given the color and the fact that you already have stripes, I can't make much in the way of exterior suggestions. How about the sound system? An '05 Sport doesn't have a built-in iPod connector does it? I just got a simple FM Transmitter so I can use my iPhone with my car radio. I would consider something along those lines as "must have".

AUX-input to connect some tunes. . . or an aftermarket iPod connector.

Ian's auto-up circuit for auto-up windows (and if you wish DSC auto-off, fog lights auto-on, and garage-door opener operated with one of your toggle switches).

Do you have a full JCW package?
I have a JCW CAI but thats about it..
I see you have the CAI and Engine mod but where are your cool JCW floor mats?
I have seen MINI's with all or some of the following JCW parts:
  • Pulley
  • Fuel injectors
  • Modified cylinder head
  • Silver engine cover badge
  • CAI
  • Exhaust
  • Rims
  • Brakes
  • Floor mats
  • CF Dash
  • Badges: front, rear and engine w/serial number
  • Shift indicator
Here is a picture of the brakes you were reffering to.

-Cabriopilot how would know if I have the complete package? Can you tell me what a CAI is (sorry for my ignorance)? Any thoughts on why the black marks are on the top of the supercharger?
-Eager2own and revray I use a Zen VisionM so I will be adding an Aux plug PRONTO for tunes !

After taking a closer look at your pictures, it appears that you do have the full JCW engine package
and I can see the Cold Air Intake to the back right of your engine compartment.
As for the marks on the engine cover badge they are normal and it comes from the rubber buffer on the bonnet (hood).
The only remedy I have seen for the marks is to clean it and then paint it with a durable clear enamel and clean it every so often.
I am checking with Aestheticreations.net to see if they have a replacement JCW badge to replace the one on your engine plate, I'll let you know what they say.
As for the brakes I would check with the person you bought it from because I far as I know
all JCW brakes are red with a JCW logo on them, unless they painted over them (not very likely).

Ahhh another question, is there a "best place" to order OEM parts?

You could check the stock problems/issues section. If you surf through some of those threads I'm sure you'll find something useful.
